The timeframe defines the duration represented by each candle or bar on your chart — for example, 1m (one minute), 1h (one hour), or 1D (one day).
In Flows.Trading, you can switch between timeframes instantly using the Timeframe Bar at the top of the chart.
Timeframes are dynamic: the list available depends on the connected broker and the selected trading symbol.
Some markets or providers may not support every interval (for example, m1 or h12 might be unavailable for certain pairs).
The Timeframe Bar #
At the top of the chart, you’ll find a horizontal Timeframe Bar displaying your favorite intervals.
Each button uses a standard market acronym:
| Acronym | Meaning |
|---|---|
| m1 | 1 minute |
| m5 | 5 minutes |
| h1 | 1 hour |
| h4 | 4 hours |
| d1 | 1 day |
| w1 | 1 week |
| M1 | 1 month |
Click any button to immediately switch the active chart to that timeframe.
The chart will reload with the corresponding candle structure and historical range.
💡 Example: Click h4 to view 4-hour candles — ideal for medium-term trend analysis. Switch back to m5 when refining entries.
The Timeframe Menu #
Next to the favorites bar, a dropdown menu (▾) opens the full list of available timeframes for the current symbol.
In this menu, you can:
View all supported intervals from the connected broker.
Identify your current favorites (highlighted).
Add or remove timeframes from your favorites list using the bookmark icon on the right.
Once you mark a timeframe as a favorite, it appears directly in the Timeframe Bar for one-click access.
💡 Tip:
Use favorites to keep your layout clean — for instance, keep only m1, h1, d1, and w1 visible if you switch between scalping and swing trading.
Broker-Dependent Availability #
Not all time intervals are universally supported.
Available timeframes depend on:
The broker or data provider you’re connected to.
The instrument or symbol you’ve selected.
If a timeframe doesn’t appear in the dropdown, it means it’s not offered by your current data source.
Switching brokers or symbols may reveal a different list of available intervals.
📝 Note:
If you connect multiple brokers, each one may provide different supported intervals.
The platform automatically adjusts the list for the active connection.
