Goal: Connect an exchange, place your first real (not paper) market or limit order, and monitor its execution.
Connect Your Broker #
- Open the Brokers tab at the bottom of the Trading space.
- Click Add Broker and follow the connection steps (see Quick Start, Step 4).
Open the Order Ticket #
- Right-click on the chart and select Buy or Sell, or
- Click the Buy/Sell button at the top of the chart.
Configure Your Order #
- Choose order type:
- Market: Executes immediately at the best available price.
- Limit: Executes only at your specified price or better.
- Stop-Limit: Triggers a limit order when a stop price is reached.
- Set quantity:
- Enter your position size (e.g., 0.01 BTC or 100 USDT).
- Choose Time in Force:
- GTC (Good Till Canceled): Order stays active until filled or manually canceled.
- IOC (Immediate or Cancel): Executes immediately; any unfilled portion is canceled.
- Optional: Add take-profit/stop-loss:
- Enable the TP/SL checkboxes.
- Specify price levels for automatic exit.
Place the Order #
- Click Place Order to submit.
- A confirmation dialog appears—review and confirm.
Monitor Execution #
- Open the Orders tab at the bottom of your workspace.
- Once filled, check your Positions tab for unrealized PnL.
- The trade is automatically logged in the Journal space.
Important: Always double-check your order details before confirming—especially order type, quantity, and price.
■ Try it now: Place a small live limit order on a low-volatility pair, then monitor it in the Orders tab until it fills.
