The Signals dashboard generates several distinct types of signals based on different technical conditions.
Momentum Signals #
What they detect:
- Strong directional acceleration in price movement
- Triggered when indicators like RSI cross extreme levels or MACD shows expansion
Use cases:
- Breakout trading
- Trend-following entries
- Catching strong directional moves early
Example setup: RSI > 70 + MACD histogram expanding + Volume spike = Strong Bullish Momentum Signal
Trend Continuation / Reversal Signals #
What they detect:
- Trend shifts or confirmation of existing trends
- Triggered by MA crossovers, structure breaks, or trendline violations
Use cases:
- Entering established trends
- Catching reversals at major support/resistance
- Riding multi-day or multi-week moves
Example setup: EMA(8) crosses above EMA(21) + Price breaks previous swing high = Trend Continuation Long
Volatility / Breakout Signals #
What they detect:
- Periods of contraction followed by expansion
- Triggered by Bollinger Band squeezes, ATR spikes, or range breakouts
Use cases:
- Trading breakouts from consolidation
- Entering after low-volatility compression
- Catching the start of explosive moves
Example setup: Bollinger Bands at narrowest width in 20 bars + Volume spike + Price breaks upper band = Volatility Breakout Long
Volume & Support/Resistance Signals #
What they detect:

- Triggered by volume spikes at support/resistance zones

- Discretionary traders looking for zones of interest

Composite / Multi-Indicator Signals #
What they detect:
- Multiple conditions aligning simultaneously
- Combines Trend + Momentum + Volume or other category combinations
Use cases:
- High-conviction trades with multiple confirmation factors
- Reducing false signals through multi-layered analysis
- Building systematic entries with clear criteria
Example setup: Trend (EMA alignment) + Momentum (RSI > 60) + Volume (above 1.5x average) = Composite Bullish Signal
Confidence scoring: Composite signals typically display higher confidence scores due to multiple confirmations.
